DR YAU WENG KEONG FRCP(Lond) is a gazetted Geriatrician with MOH since 2000, NSR in year 2010 and had been working as a physician and geriatrician since 1997. Geriatrics services continue to developed and progressed from 4 geriatricians in number when he started in 1997 to about 30 plus this year. He was involved in starting the Post-Basic Gerontology Nursing under MOH, Malaysia which later evolved in advance diploma in gerontology. He is also instrumental in helping UPM, IMU and RCSI Perdana University start and run their “Health Care for the Elderly” undergraduate programme. Dr Yau sits in various elderly care committees including National Specialist Registry for Geriatric Medicine and is a principle Investigators for dementia related clinical studies.
Currently Dr Yau is a Consultant Physician @Geriatrician with Department of Medicine Hospital KL. Since April 2018 he is both HOD Med in HKL and Head of Geriatrics Service for MOH, Malaysia.
